Goshen Open Studio Tour
Background
While Goshen’s art scene has been rich with talent, the general public was largely unaware of the multitude of artists in its midst. Eyedart founded the Open Studio tour 2005 with the intent to invite visitors to explore Goshen’s rapidly expanding art community by touring a diverse collection of exhibits. The purpose of the event is to heighten community pride in artists’ contributions to the region, provide a forum for viewing variety of media, and showcase historic Goshen properties by using them as exhibition spaces. Those who take the self-guided tour have the opportunity to take an inside look at artist’s galleries and studios, purchase original art form the artist who created it, see works in progress, and enjoy good food, drink, and music.
Methodology
Created the “Goshen Open Studio tour”, biannual self-guided tour of arts and artists’ studios in the Goshen, Indiana. Developed marketing materials including layout, writing, editing, and graphic design.
Result
The tour started with 12 artists in 2005. Now, the tour incorporates over 100 area artists and spans two days.
I’ve been producing and selling artwork for over twenty years. Eyedart helped me increase sales through private showings, online exposure and special events.
