First Fridays
In the early 2000s, Goshen–along with many other small cities–was experiencing the symptoms of urban blight in its downtown. Large box stores on the city’s periphery left underutilized or abandoned buildings. Years of car-centric design left an inhospitable pedestrian landscape.
And yet, there were still small, locally owned businesses downtown. First Fridays began in 2007 as an incentive for the community to eat, drink, shop, and create new businesses in downtown Goshen. Today, these events are a beloved part of Goshen with activities for all ages, unique themes, and a celebratory atmosphere–perfect for meeting friends and family.
Eyedart continues to plan all aspects of each First Fridays event, raise the money needed to fund the events, and market the events to the community.
Each First Fridays event brings thousands of people downtown for shopping and eating while enjoying time with friends and family.
The events feature free entertainment from the First Fridays stage, free activities for kids, and a unique theme for a different experience every month.
